Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Launches Riyadh Foundation To Enhance Social Development

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has announced the establishment of the Riyadh Foundation. This new entity will function independently as a non-profit under the Royal Commission for Riyadh City. The foundation's board of directors has been formed, with Prince Mohammed bin Salman serving as Chairman.

The foundation's board includes key figures from various sectors that will benefit from its initiatives. Eng. Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al Sultan, CEO of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, is appointed as Vice Chairman and Secretary General. Other board members include Minister of Sport Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal and Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan.

The Riyadh Foundation aims to enhance social development and innovation in line with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. It focuses on four main areas: health and happiness, inclusiveness and empowerment, societal connectivity, and sustainability. These objectives will be pursued through research, impactful social programs, and support for community projects.

A Think Tank will drive the foundation's efforts by conducting research and developing strategies. It will design social programs and support entrepreneurial ventures by incubating community projects. Additionally, it will manage social assets and promote volunteering to unlock Riyadh’s social capital.

The foundation also seeks to boost cultural awareness among residents and visitors. By enhancing understanding of heritage and arts, it aims to foster a sense of belonging within the community. This initiative aligns with efforts to strengthen communication among diverse groups in Riyadh.

Environmental sustainability is another priority for the foundation. It plans to promote sustainable practices throughout the city to ensure environmental protection while supporting urban development goals.

Board Members from Various Sectors

The board comprises influential figures such as Mayor of Riyadh Region Prince Dr. Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Alayyaf, Minister of Finance Mohammed Al-Jadaan, and Minister of Human Resources Ahmed Al-Rajhi. Their involvement ensures that diverse sectors are represented in the foundation’s work.

Other notable members include Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al Khateeb, Minister of Health Fahad Al-Jalajel, Minister of Education Yousef Al-Benyan, and Advisor Fahad bin Abdulmohsen Al Rasheed from the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers.

This initiative marks a significant step towards advancing social cohesion in Riyadh City. By focusing on education, cultural awareness, and environmental sustainability, it aims to create a more inclusive society that benefits all residents.
