Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Opens New Facilities To Boost Royal Saudi Air Force Readiness

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, inaugurated new facilities at King Salman Air Base. These developments are part of strategic projects to boost the combat readiness of the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF). Upon arrival, HRH the Crown Prince was welcomed by Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and other high-ranking officials.

The newly opened facilities are designed to enhance the RSAF's combat readiness. They support planning, command, control, supply, and joint operations for the Armed Forces. The project includes 115 buildings covering over 126,000 square meters. It features runways, aircraft parking aprons, helicopter pads, hangars, an air traffic control tower, and various technical and residential facilities.

New Facilities Opened at King Salman Air Base

During his visit, HRH the Crown Prince toured the facilities and received briefings on their technical, administrative, and residential areas. These areas were constructed to meet the highest international military standards. He was also informed about the construction phases and engineering components involved in the project.

The opening ceremony featured a video presentation detailing the project's implementation stages. Construction began in Q3 2021 and took 38 months to complete. The design follows the Salmani architectural style, reflecting Riyadh’s identity and modern urban trends.

The ceremony was attended by several notable figures including Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz. Also present were Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz and Mayor of Riyadh Region Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Mohammed bin Ayyaf. Senior civil and military officials were also in attendance.

A video presentation during the ceremony highlighted how these facilities were built to support various aspects of military operations. This includes planning and command functions as well as supply chain management for joint operations within the Armed Forces.

The project reflects a commitment to enhancing military infrastructure with modern designs that align with Riyadh's urban development trends. By incorporating advanced architectural styles, it aims to bolster operational capabilities while maintaining cultural identity.
