Crown Prince Of Abu Dhabi Represents UAE President At BRICS Leaders Virtual Summit
H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, represented the UAE at the BRICS Leaders Virtual Summit. This event was organised by Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, President of Brazil. On behalf of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, H.H. Sheikh Khaled conveyed greetings to the participating nations and expressed hopes for a successful summit.
The summit focused on enhancing cooperation among member states and boosting foreign trade. Discussions included advancing economic integration through joint projects in sectors like infrastructure, energy, and digital transformation. The aim was to promote sustainable growth in developing countries while addressing challenges in the global trading system.
H.H. Sheikh Khaled praised Brazil's leadership of BRICS this year and acknowledged the significant outcomes from the 17th BRICS Summit held in Rio de Janeiro on 6-7 July 2025. He emphasised that BRICS is crucial for international collaboration, fostering development for its members and promoting global prosperity.
The summit highlighted the importance of strengthening political dialogue on global economic issues. It also addressed challenges facing the international trading system, aiming to create a more integrated and cooperative environment among member states.
The virtual summit saw participation from several global leaders including Xi Jinping of China, Vladimir Putin of Russia, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt, Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa, Dr Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran, Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia, Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar from India, and Dr Gedion Timothewos from Ethiopia.
H.H. Sheikh Khaled reiterated the UAE's commitment to building economic and trade partnerships that enhance sustainable development globally. He stressed that these efforts aim to deliver growth and prosperity for all nations involved.
The discussions at the summit underscored BRICS as a vital framework for collective action internationally. This aligns with the UAE’s dedication to fostering economic partnerships that support sustainable development worldwide.
