Crown Prince Of Abu Dhabi And Belarus President Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties And Economic Cooperation
H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, recently engaged in official discussions with Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus, at the Palace of Independence in Minsk. The meeting underscored the robust bilateral relations between the United Arab Emirates and Belarus.
President Lukashenko warmly welcomed the Crown Prince and his delegation, emphasizing the strong ties between their nations. He reiterated Belarus' dedication to enhancing cooperation with the UAE across various sectors to benefit both countries and their citizens.
The discussions focused on expanding collaboration in areas like economy, investment, and development. Both leaders explored ways to enhance bilateral relations further and broaden cooperation in shared interests. They also exchanged views on regional and international developments.
During the talks, H.H. Sheikh Khaled conveyed greetings from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to President Lukashenko. He extended best wishes for Lukashenko's health and happiness and for Belarus' continued progress.
A significant outcome of the meeting was witnessing the exchange of the Trade in Services and Investment Agreement (TISIA). This agreement marks a new phase of private-sector cooperation between the two countries, expanding market access for UAE businesses in sectors like financial services, consulting, education, and healthcare.
The TISIA aims to create new opportunities for foreign direct investment and joint ventures. It reflects both nations' shared vision for economic prosperity through mutually beneficial trade and investment.

Economic Growth Between Nations
Belarus is a vital trading partner for the UAE. In 2024, non-oil trade between them surged to approximately US$3.9 billion. This represents a fivefold increase from 2023 and a 47-fold rise compared to 2021 when trade volumes were just US$82.6 million.
The meeting highlighted efforts to promote peace and stability while supporting peaceful conflict resolution as a foundation for sustainable development in the region and beyond.
The discussions concluded with both leaders reaffirming their commitment to strengthening ties further. They aim to foster prosperity through enhanced cooperation across multiple sectors.
