Creative Expressions Exhibition Showcases Diverse Artistic Talents At National Theatre In Abu Dhabi

The Ministry of Culture, in partnership with the 17th Abu Dhabi Art edition, has launched 'Creative Expressions.' This exhibition, held at the National Theatre and Abu Dhabi Cultural Centre, will run until 9 January 2026. It showcases works from the National Grant Programme for Culture and Creativity, the Creative Market Programme, and the Ministry's artist-in-residence initiative.

‘Creative Expressions’ celebrates a wide range of artistic disciplines. Visitors can explore literature, cultural heritage, film and television, performing arts and theatre, visual arts and design, video games, and music. The exhibition offers an immersive experience into the creative landscape shaped by ongoing efforts to nurture local talent.

Creative Expressions Exhibition Launches in Abu Dhabi

More than just an exhibition, it highlights artists' creative journeys. It sheds light on pivotal moments that have shaped their artistic identities. Visitors can engage in interactive dialogues with artists to gain insights into milestones defining their development under the Ministry's support.

Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qassimi stated: "Creative Expressions reflects the Ministry’s commitment to nurturing and empowering creative talent. It stands as a testament to the impact of our long-term support Programmes, which go beyond enabling creative production to focus on building artists’ capabilities and strengthening their presence both locally and globally. In doing so, we contribute to reinforcing our national identity and advancing the growth of the UAE’s creative economy."

The exhibition features a diverse group of Emirati and resident artists involved in various Ministry Programmes. Notable participants include Azza Al Qubaisi, Ahmed Emad, Hessa Al Zaabi, Asim Mohammed, Shama Al Hamad, Tala Hammoud Atrouni, Shamma Al Marzouqi, Sara Al Zaabi, Sara Al Rumaithi, Samia Saleh, Munther Al Safi, Mohamed Dardiri, Karen Roche, Fatima Al Marar, Diaa Allam, Youssef Al Badi among others.

"We take great pride in the achievements of our creators. Through this exhibition, we aim to highlight their artistic journeys and the defining moments that shaped their paths. We hope to offer audiences inspiring stories that demonstrate the profound value of investing in people and in creativity," Sheikh Salem added.

Programme Evolution

The exhibition provides a narrative-driven experience tracing the evolution of the Ministry's Programmes. From production grants to capacity-building initiatives and promotion efforts—each aspect contributes to an interconnected ecosystem supporting artists while showcasing completed artworks enhancing UAE’s cultural identity.

The National Culture and Creativity Grants Programme is a flagship initiative by the Ministry of Culture aimed at supporting Emirati talent across various sectors such as literature; visual arts; theatre; performing arts; music; film; design; video games; cultural heritage.

This event underscores how strategic investment in creativity can enrich national culture while fostering global recognition for UAE's vibrant artistic community.
