Council Of Arab Information Ministers Discusses Media Cooperation And Palestinian Cause At 21st Session

The Executive Office of the Council of Arab Information Ministers convened its 21st session at the League of Arab States headquarters in Cairo. The meeting was chaired by Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary, with participation from Arab information ministers and delegation heads. This gathering aimed to enhance joint Arab media cooperation, focusing on significant issues such as the Palestinian cause.

Minister Al-Dossary emphasised the need for Arab media to support the Palestinian cause through all available channels. He urged media outlets to reaffirm their commitment to this central issue, advocating for the Palestinian people's rights. These rights include freedom and an independent state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Arab Ministers Address Media and Palestine Issues

The minister highlighted Saudi Arabia's efforts in activating the Arab Peace Initiative, which is grounded in the two-state solution. This initiative has paved a new path for establishing a Palestinian state. It has led to several influential countries recognising Palestine and has been instrumental in international discussions.

A significant achievement was the international two-state solution conference held in New York. This event successfully mobilised global support and encouraged a serious approach towards resolving political stagnation. It aimed at advancing the establishment of a Palestinian state.

Al-Dossary stressed the importance of mobilising both Arab and international public opinion. This mobilisation is crucial in confronting Israeli occupation and promoting Arab peace initiatives. The minister called for support of final-status negotiations and efforts to confront challenges faced by Palestinians.

The meeting underscored that the Palestinian cause remains a central issue for Arab nations and peoples. The focus is on securing legitimate national rights for Palestinians through peaceful means and diplomatic efforts.

The session concluded with a call for continued collaboration among Arab media outlets. The aim is to strengthen support for Palestine and ensure that their voices are heard on international platforms.
