His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, attended the fourth 1 Billion Followers Summit, described as the world’s largest gathering for the content creation economy, where global creators, platform companies, and policymakers meet in Dubai to discuss how digital content supports development and future economic growth.

The summit takes place over three days in Dubai, across Emirates Towers, the Dubai International Financial Centre, and the Museum of the Future, under the theme ‘Content for Good’. Organised by the UAE Government Media Office, it gathers more than 15,000 creators and influencers, alongside over 500 speakers, with a combined global audience exceeding 3.5 billion people.

During the visit, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum underlined how content creation shapes public awareness and supports economic and social progress. H.H. Sheikh Mohammed said: "We believe that true investment lies in investing in minds that transform talent into impact and ideas into sustainable projects, creating opportunities and driving growth."

H.H. Sheikh Mohammed also highlighted the wider purpose of the 1 Billion Followers Summit and its ‘Content for Good’ theme. H.H. Sheikh Mohammed added: "Our goal for the summit is to serve as a platform that equips youth from across the region and the world with the tools for influence and responsible content creation, while reinforcing the UAE’s position as a leading destination for visionaries and creatives, and a global meeting point for those committed to serving humanity and creating hope."

The fourth 1 Billion Followers Summit focuses on two main pillars. The first is the shift from content creation to measurable impact through ‘Content for Good’. The second is the use of AI tools in content development. The event presents more than 580 keynote sessions, roundtables, panel discussions, and workshops, delivered by over 500 international speakers and experts.

As part of the programme, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed toured dedicated areas created by major social media and technology platforms at the 1 Billion Followers Summit. The current edition again gathers Snapchat, X, YouTube, TikTok, Google Gemini, Meta’s platforms Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, along with Disney+ and Twitch, under one roof to engage with creators and industry professionals.

1 Billion Followers Summit initiatives and content creation economy

H.H. Sheikh Mohammed received a detailed briefing on the ‘1 Billion Acts of Kindness’ campaign, a flagship global initiative linked to the 1 Billion Followers Summit. The campaign was launched with MrBeast and is supported by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives and the Varkey Foundation. It has logged more than 170,000 community and humanitarian acts and over 100 million views within three weeks.

H.H. Sheikh Mohammed also reviewed progress on the AI Film Award, launched with Google Gemini and described as the largest and most valuable award of its kind worldwide, with a total prize pool of $1 million. The award drew interest from more than 30,000 participants in 116 countries, resulting in 3,500 film submissions, while the Creators Ventures programme’s first and second editions worked to accelerate businesses and entrepreneurial projects within the content economy, supporting individuals and ventures. H.H. Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied during the summit visit by Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs.

By combining global platforms, large-scale initiatives, and a clear focus on responsible digital storytelling, the fourth 1 Billion Followers Summit in Dubai strengthens the UAE’s role in the content creation economy, offers youth and entrepreneurs tools to develop sustainable projects, and encourages content that supports humanitarian values, social impact, and long-term economic opportunities.
