CONEXO Event To Enhance Cultural Exchange Through Traditional Arts Between Saudi Arabia And Brazil

The Confluence of Saudi-Brazilian Culture (CONEXO) will occur from January 30 to February 1, under the theme Eltiqa: The Saudi-Brazilian Traditional Arts. This event, held at Riyadh's King Fahad Cultural Center, is supported by Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan. It aims to showcase the artistic harmony between Saudi Arabia and Brazil.

Following its successful debut with South Korea in 2023, this second edition continues the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts' mission to promote international cultural dialogue. The event seeks to enhance cultural exchange by partnering annually with a different country to explore shared traditional arts connections.

CONEXO aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 by creating new cultural platforms that raise awareness of traditional arts. It supports efforts to preserve and share these arts both locally and globally. This initiative is part of the institute’s broader strategy to promote artistic movement and international cultural exchange in Saudi Arabia.

The program will feature five traditional performances each from Saudi Arabia and Brazil. These performances will culminate in a unique dance blending elements from both cultures. Additionally, a collaborative artwork by two female artists, one from each nation, will be displayed.

Over 15 cultural activities are planned for CONEXO, including workshops and educational sessions focused on performing and visual arts. These activities aim to deepen cultural understanding and strengthen ties between the two nations through shared artistic expressions.

This exhibition offers a distinctive cultural experience, highlighting the artistic synergy between Saudi Arabia and Brazil. By fostering such exchanges, it contributes significantly to enhancing international cultural relations.

The event underscores the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts' dedication to promoting global cultural dialogue through traditional arts. It serves as a platform for celebrating shared heritage while encouraging mutual appreciation among diverse cultures.
