Saudi Arabia Weather Update: Dust Winds And Rain Predicted In Several Regions

Recent weather forecasts by the National Center for Meteorology have indicated a series of environmental conditions affecting various regions across Saudi Arabia. Notably, dust-stirring winds are expected to impact areas in Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, and Makkah. Alongside these winds, light to moderate rainfall is anticipated within these regions, potentially leading to fog formation over the highlands. Additionally, brisk winds are set to sweep over parts of the Eastern Region and the southern sector of Riyadh.

The Red Sea is also forecasted to experience varying wind conditions. In the northern and central parts, northerly to northwesterly winds will prevail, with speeds ranging from 15-45 km/h. Conversely, the southern part of the Red Sea will witness southwesterly to northwesterly winds, with speeds fluctuating between 12-50 km/h. Wave heights in these areas are expected to vary, with one to two meters in the northern and central parts and one to two and a half meters in the southern part, leading to a relatively calm to choppy sea state.

Similarly, the Arabian Gulf will see its own set of conditions. Winds will initially blow from a southerly to southeasterly direction at speeds of 15-45 km/h before shifting to northeasterly to northerly at 10-30 km/h. Wave heights in the Gulf will range from one to two meters in the northern and central parts and from half a meter to a meter in the southern part, resulting in calm to choppy seas.

These weather conditions suggest potential impacts on daily activities for residents in the affected regions. The presence of dust-stirring winds may reduce visibility and air quality, necessitating precautions for individuals with respiratory issues. The anticipated rainfall could offer relief from the prevailing dry conditions but also warrants preparedness for possible foggy mornings, especially in highland areas.

For mariners navigating the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf, the forecasted wind speeds and wave heights call for cautious planning. The varying sea conditions across different parts of these water bodies highlight the need for vigilance and adherence to safety guidelines during maritime activities.

The National Center for Meteorology continues to monitor these evolving weather patterns, providing timely updates to ensure public safety and awareness. Residents and mariners are advised to stay informed about the latest weather forecasts and take necessary precautions during this period.
