Community Development Authority Launches Hatta Unites Us Festival To Celebrate Local Entrepreneurs And Culture

The Community Development Authority (CDA) has introduced 'Hatta Unites Us' at #HattaWinter, a festival celebrating home-based entrepreneurs and the cultural identity of Hatta. Launched at Al Wadi Park, the event offers community-focused experiences to enhance the role of local families in Dubai's rapidly growing destination.

Set against Hatta's scenic landscape and rich heritage, #HattaWinter is now in its second edition under the #DubaiDestinations campaign. It has become a significant event on Dubai’s calendar, attracting residents and tourists interested in authentic outdoor and cultural experiences. This year’s programme aims to elevate Hatta’s iconic attractions, providing visitors with deeper insights into the area’s history and evolving identity.

Hatta Unites Us Festival Celebrates Local Culture

'Hatta Unites Us' features 35 home-based entrepreneurs showcasing locally crafted products, including traditional foods, confectionery, perfumes, textiles, and artisanal goods. This platform highlights Hatta’s long-standing culture of family enterprise and offers participants broader market access than ever before.

Visitors can also enjoy new experiential additions such as ‘Hatta Memories,’ a visual chronicle of the region’s past; hands-on traditional craft workshops; a heritage kitchen serving community-inspired dishes; and a cultural stage hosting performances and conversations that bring audiences closer to Hatta’s creative scene.

The festival underscores Dubai's commitment to inclusive community development by featuring a dedicated platform for People of Determination, created with the Sheikha Maitha Bint Rashid Al Maktoum Centre. A Majlis for senior citizens provides space for storytelling and intergenerational dialogue, further embedding local voices into the visitor experience.

Ali Al Qassim, Director of Benefits and Financial Empowerment at CDA, stated: "Hatta Unites Us represents a significant step in enabling home-based entrepreneurs to broaden their economic prospects. The festival offers visitors an authentic window into local life while creating a meaningful platform for families to grow their enterprises and engage with new audiences. It strengthens their ability to move from home-run initiatives into viable businesses within the local market, empowering them to take a more active role in Hatta’s evolving economic landscape."

Enabling New Economic Pathways

CDA is enhancing support for home-based entrepreneurs by focusing on market access, skills development, and long-term economic resilience. This framework includes programmes for senior citizens and People of Determination, ensuring broad participation and sustained community benefit.

'Hatta Unites Us' adds a strong community dimension to the #HattaWinter campaign. The festival deepens connections between residents and place, reinforcing Hatta as a destination where heritage, creativity, and natural beauty converge.

CDA encourages the public to visit 'Hatta Unites Us' Festival to explore creativity, culture, and community spirit while opening new pathways for family enterprise in one of Dubai's unique winter destinations.
