Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi Sets Stage For Global Oncology And Gastroenterology Summits

Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, a key entity within the M42 group, is poised to host two pivotal global medical summits focusing on complex oncology care and advancements this April. These events underscore the institution's significant role in medical education and innovation on a global scale. Over 50 experts in oncology and digestive diseases from Cleveland Clinic locations worldwide will gather to share insights and advancements.

The first of these events, the Cleveland Clinic Global Summit on Innovations in Cancer Care, is scheduled from 19th-21st April at the Four Seasons Hotel in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Under the leadership of Dr. Faek Jamali, a Consultant Surgical Oncologist and Colorectal Surgeon at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, this summit aims to cover a broad spectrum of topics. These include cancer screening, prevention, and the latest updates in surgical and radiation oncology. Recognized internationally and accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME), the summit will address the notable increase in cancer detection among younger populations—a trend highlighted by several international studies. A special session dedicated to global oncology will explore the unique challenges and opportunities for improving cancer care in the Middle East. The event will also feature an annual award ceremony to honor individuals who have significantly contributed to cancer care awareness and advancement.

Abu Dhabi's Major Medical Summits

The second summit, Frontiers in Advanced Hepato-Biliary Cancers and Transplant Oncology, is set for 27th-28th April at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Led by Dr. Cristiano Quintini, Institute Chair of General Surgery at the Digestive Disease Institute, this CME-accredited event by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) aims to unite leading experts in transplant, hepatic, biliary, and oncological diseases. Discussions will focus on the latest interventions and innovations within these fields. Additionally, this event will mark the launch of the annual Resident Surgery Education Week, offering residents from across the UAE practical skills development and career guidance from esteemed surgeons.

Both summits promise to significantly impact the future of oncological care by highlighting the transformative role of genomics in cancer detection and treatment and providing insights into industry perspectives that go beyond geographical boundaries. Attendees will also have an exclusive opportunity to tour the Fatima bint Mubarak Cancer Center, a facility inspired by Cleveland Clinic’s Taussig Cancer Center—one of the top-ranked cancer facilities in the US.

Through these gatherings, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi not only reaffirms its commitment to advancing medical knowledge and treatment but also fosters a collaborative environment for healthcare professionals globally to share insights and innovations that could redefine oncological care practices worldwide.
