Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi Receives Prestigious ACC Accreditation For Cardiac Care Excellence

Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, a member of the M42 group, has been honoured by the American College of Cardiology (ACC) for its outstanding cardiac catheterisation services. The hospital received Cardiac Cath Lab Accreditation with Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) after a thorough evaluation of its staff's skills in assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients in its advanced cardiac catheterisation lab.

Percutaneous coronary intervention, often called coronary angioplasty, is a non-surgical method used to open narrowed or blocked coronary arteries. This procedure helps alleviate heart disease symptoms or minimise heart damage during or after a heart attack. Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's expertise in this area has earned it international recognition.

The ACC has also acknowledged Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi as an International Centre of Excellence. This title is given to hospitals worldwide that consistently show excellence through comprehensive process improvements, disease and procedure-specific accreditation, professional excellence, and community involvement.

The Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute (HVTI) at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi continues to lead in advanced cardiac care within the region. In 2024 alone, HVTI carried out 839 procedures, which included 574 cardiac surgeries and 265 structural heart interventions. These achievements highlight the institute's commitment to setting new standards in healthcare.
