City Center Project In Madinah: A Modern Urban Destination Celebrating Heritage
The "City Center" project in Madinah is a unique urban development that captures the city's genuine essence through its modern and integrated design. It aims to enrich the lives of both residents and visitors by enhancing the urban experience for pilgrims, supporting entrepreneurs, and boosting tourism and commercial activities in the region.
Located near the historic Qiblatain Mosque, which is significant due to its connection with the Prophet’s biography and the change of Qibla direction, this project serves as a lively destination within Madinah’s humanization initiatives. The area features cafés, restaurants, and family-friendly spaces that draw inspiration from Madinah’s environment and rich urban heritage.

The "City Center" offers a variety of cultural experiences through interactive exhibitions and themed corners. These include the Madinah tea experience, displays showcasing the produce from Madinah’s farms, and exhibits highlighting innovations with Ajwa dates. Visitors can also explore an educational exhibition titled "Why It Is Called the Qiblatain," which delves into the historical significance of this location.
The design identity of the project takes cues from its surroundings near Qiblatain Mosque and Wadi Al-Aqiq. It incorporates natural elements like stone textures, palm trees, and native plants. This blend of heritage and modernity provides a unique experience that mirrors Madinah's authenticity, warmth, and enduring community spirit.
Supervised by the Madinah Region Development Authority, this project aligns with ongoing efforts to improve quality of life in Madinah. It aims to revive the city’s urban identity while creating dynamic urban and tourism destinations. These efforts are in line with Saudi Vision 2030 goals.
The "City Center" stands as a testament to Madinah's commitment to preserving its cultural heritage while embracing modernity. By offering diverse experiences for both locals and tourists, it plays a crucial role in promoting economic growth and cultural exchange in the region.
