China's Participation At World Defense Show 2026 Highlights Global Interest In Defence Technology
The upcoming World Defense Show (WDS) 2026 in Riyadh, scheduled from February 8-12, is set to feature over 100 defense companies from China. This highlights the increasing global interest in the event, which will focus on future defense technologies. Since its launch, WDS has expanded significantly, with exhibition space growing by 54% from 2022 to 2026, more than doubling its original size.
Interest from Chinese companies is evident, with 88% of the China pavilion space already secured, making it the second-largest national presence after Saudi Arabia. This was emphasized during the 15th Airshow China in Zhuhai from November 12-17, 2024. At this event, WDS representatives engaged with potential exhibitors to promote WDS 2026 and secure bookings as space rapidly fills.

In the previous WDS held in 2024, China had a significant presence with one of the largest pavilions, accounting for 9% of total attendance. The companies displayed advanced technologies showcasing their capabilities across various defense sectors. This participation underscores China's commitment to showcasing its technological advancements on a global platform.
Andrew Pearcey, CEO of World Defense Show, remarked on the strong interest from Chinese exhibitors: "The significant interest and commitment from Chinese exhibitors is a testament to the prominence WDS holds in the global defense space. Our goal is to bring together global and local stakeholders to advance networking opportunities, strengthen global knowledge-sharing, and shape the future of defense technology."
During Airshow China, WDS is stationed at booth H5C19. Visitors can explore features like 'Meet the KSA Government' and enhanced WDS Connect. Additional themes and networking opportunities will be revealed for WDS 2026 in the coming months.
The rapid sale of exhibition space reflects international enthusiasm for WDS 2026. Over half of the available floor area is already booked due to high demand. This growth mirrors the show's rising importance in showcasing cutting-edge defense technologies worldwide.
As preparations continue for WDS 2026, it remains a pivotal event for fostering collaboration among global defense industry leaders. The show aims to facilitate networking and knowledge exchange while highlighting technological innovations shaping future defense strategies.
