China's Logistics Prosperity Index Stays In Expansion Zone For June
China's logistics prosperity index slightly decreased by 0.2 percent from May to June, settling at 51.6 percent, according to data from the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing. Despite this dip, the index remained in the expansionary zone.
The total business volume index and new order index continued to show growth. China Central Television (CCTV) reported that new order indices for road, railway, air transport, and postal express stayed within the expansionary range across their respective sectors.

Online promotions and demand for fresh goods significantly boosted the postal express industry's new order index, which surpassed 70 percent. The air transport sector's new order index also remained high at 58.7 percent.
A survey revealed a rapid rebound in new orders for cold-chain flowers, seasonal fruits and vegetables, and fresh food through postal express and air logistics in June. This surge was driven by increased online promotions and consumer demand.
"From January to June, the logistics prosperity index stayed in the expansion range for four consecutive months," said Liu Yuhang, Director of the China Logistics Information Centre. "It averaged 52 percent in the first half of the year, slightly higher than last year’s same period."
Growth in Postal Express and Air Transport Sectors
Liu noted that new business orders in postal express and air transport sectors grew rapidly. "This reflects a gradual recovery in logistics demands in these areas," Liu added. "It has also led to a slight increase in logistics service prices overall."
In June, the logistics service price index rose by 0.2 percentage points from May. Prices for railway transport, road transport, water transport, and postal express all saw rebounds.
The consistent performance of China's logistics industry indicates stability and improvement since early this year. The average prosperity index of 52 percent highlights this trend.
