China's Hajj Pilgrims Office Hosts Cultural Exhibition In Saudi Arabia
The office of Chinese Hajj pilgrims' affairs recently hosted an exhibition at the headquarters of the Chinese Hajj mission, highlighting traditional Chinese culture. The event saw the presence of Chinese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Chang Hua, Consul-General in Jeddah Wang Qimin, and Adiljan Haj Kerim, Head of the Chinese Pilgrims' Affairs Office and Vice President of the China Islamic Association. Representatives from the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and several officials from various Hajj missions also attended.
During the exhibition, Ambassador Chang underscored the collaborative efforts between the Chinese embassy in Saudi Arabia and the consulate-general in Jeddah. These efforts aim to provide comprehensive services and facilities for Chinese pilgrims, ensuring a seamless experience during their religious rituals. He highlighted that these initiatives are carried out in collaboration with relevant Saudi Arabian authorities.

Ambassador Chang expressed his hope that Chinese pilgrims would contribute to promoting a positive image of Muslim pilgrims, showcasing exemplary conduct. He also hoped that this spiritual journey would strengthen understanding and cultural exchange between the friendly peoples of Saudi Arabia and China. Additionally, he extended his wishes for a blessed Hajj to the Chinese pilgrims.
The exhibition featured over 200 pieces of artwork, including paintings, calligraphy, paper-cuttings, and pyrography. These artworks showcased various aspects of Chinese culture such as tea-making, embroidery, paper cutting, historical manuscripts, self-defense arts, Chinese and Arabic calligraphy, and painting. The event also introduced important Chinese vocabulary and presented renowned Chinese dishes like zongzi, dumplings, noodles, and fried cakes.
Manuscripts reflecting the historical development of Islam in China were also displayed. A documentary showcasing the daily life, social customs, cultural practices, and economic aspects of Chinese Muslims was part of the exhibition.
Ambassador Chang commended the Saudi Arabian government's efforts to provide exceptional services to pilgrims. He praised their warm reception and hospitality and acknowledged the allocation of necessary resources to facilitate a smooth and tranquil performance of rituals by pilgrims.
The ambassador emphasized that these collaborative efforts between China and Saudi Arabia aim to ensure a seamless experience for all pilgrims. He reiterated his hopes for strengthened cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the two nations through such initiatives.
