Saudi Arabia Celebrates 95 Years Of Unity On National Day Under Vision 2030

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership, and its people will celebrate the 95th National Day under the slogan "Pride in Our Nature." This day marks a significant historical milestone: the unification of the country. It commemorates the royal decree issued by King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, which officially renamed the country the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

King Abdulaziz's vision extended beyond unification. He focused on expanding and serving the two holy mosques, establishing schools and hospitals, and initiating agricultural development. These projects required funding, leading to oil exploration. In 1938, oil was discovered after years of unsuccessful attempts, transforming the desert into an industrial hub. The first oil pumping in 1939 marked a new era of national growth.

Saudi Arabia Marks 95th National Day Celebration

As Saudi Arabia celebrates its 95th year, it continues its journey of progress, building on King Abdulaziz's foundation. Guided by Saudi Vision 2030 and led by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the nation advances confidently on sustainable development paths. Over decades, it has become a model for economic and social renaissance.

Saudi Arabia's identity is rooted in principles from the Holy Quran and Sunnah. This foundation has enabled unprecedented growth and innovation. National Day symbolizes pride and belonging, reinforcing loyalty among citizens, residents, and visitors as they witness transformations in quality of life, infrastructure, and global influence.

The celebration also honours King Abdulaziz's life. He dedicated himself to unifying the Arabian Peninsula during conflict and hardship. His efforts brought peace and prosperity, laying groundwork for a secure nation rich in resources. The recapture of Riyadh marked a turning point in this journey towards unification.

After uniting various regions, King Abdulaziz consolidated power through popular demand. The state's name changed from "Kingdom of Hejaz and Najd" to "Kingdom of Saudi Arabia." His character was shaped by his father Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal and mother Princess Sarah Al-Sudairi. Known for his commanding yet humble demeanor, he restored order upon returning to Riyadh in his twenties.

King Abdulaziz's return to Riyadh with his men was heroic. It culminated in establishing a unified government that laid foundations for Riyadh's growth and cultural prosperity. Internationally, he established foreign policies based on independence and mutual respect, earning admiration from global leaders.

His legacy is one where consultation principles guide governance—a practice continued by his sons. Each subsequent ruler built upon King Abdulaziz's foundations: King Saud initiated Cabinet work; King Faisal championed Islamic solidarity; King Khalid oversaw economic renaissance; King Fahd enacted legislative reforms; King Abdullah approved Allegiance Council system; while King Salman focuses on administrative reforms.
