CBUAE Targets Enhanced Efficiency With ‘Zero Bureaucracy’ In Financial Sector
The Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates (CBUAE) has introduced its "Zero Bureaucracy" initiative in the financial sector. This aligns with the UAE Government's broader "Zero Government Bureaucracy" programme, aiming to streamline government procedures and reduce unnecessary burdens on businesses and individuals.
In collaboration with the Prime Minister’s Office, the CBUAE organised a workshop to discuss mechanisms for implementing the Zero Government Bureaucracy programme. The programme's goal is to eliminate at least 2,000 government procedures, cut procedure times by at least 50 percent, and remove all unnecessary processes and requirements.

During the workshop, participants explored various initiatives aimed at reducing bureaucracy. These initiatives focus on simplifying procedures, speeding up service delivery, and innovating new patterns of government operations. The primary objective is to enhance operational efficiency and improve service quality for customers and partners in the financial sector.
The CBUAE also issued a notice to all licensed financial institutions, urging them to participate in the programme. They are encouraged to take steps and discuss them in an upcoming workshop organised by the CBUAE. The aim is to simplify and expedite procedures related to services provided to customers and businesses in the financial industry.
Khaled Mohmmed Balama, Governor of the CBUAE, stated, "The Zero Government Bureaucracy programme captures our leadership’s vision of developing an integrated, innovative, and forward-looking government ecosystem. Eliminating bureaucracy within the CBUAE is a continuous process aimed at fostering development and success in the financial sector. This initiative will drive a positive impact for consumers, customers, and businesses alike, and support the achievement of the 'We the UAE 2031' vision which aims to make the UAE government a forward ecosystem globally."
Youth Council and Happiness Committee
Additionally, the CBUAE Youth Council and Happiness Committee are actively facilitating dialogue between employees and various departments. This allows them to share viable ideas and proposals with the internal committee overseeing the Zero Government Bureaucracy programme. This effort aligns with both the vision and organisational values of the CBUAE.
The initiative represents a significant step towards simplifying lives by reducing time, effort, and resources spent on bureaucratic processes. By focusing on eliminating unnecessary procedures, it aims to create a more efficient government framework that benefits everyone involved.
The "Zero Bureaucracy" initiative is expected to have a lasting positive impact on consumers, customers, and businesses within the UAE's financial sector. It supports broader national goals such as enhancing operational efficiency and improving service quality across various sectors.
