Capital.com Establishes New Regional Headquarters In UAE, Embracing #NextGenFDI Initiative

Capital.com, a rapidly growing global trading platform and fintech group, has recently made headlines with its trading volumes exceeding USD$1 trillion in 2023. The company is now set to further its expansion by joining the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) #NextGenFDI initiative, aimed at digitally-enabled businesses. This strategic move is marked by the opening of a new subsidiary, Capital Com MENA Securities Trading LLC (Capital Com MENA), which will serve as the operational headquarters for the region. This development follows the company's receipt of full regulatory approval from the UAE Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) last week.

Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, highlighted the UAE's role in attracting top-tier technology companies with ambitious growth plans. He emphasized that the UAE is not only a vibrant ecosystem but also a gateway to the expanding economies of Asia and Africa. The #NextGenFDI programme plays a crucial role in drawing global firms to the UAE, thereby bolstering its status as a dynamic and future-focused global hub.

Kypros Zoumidou, Group Chief Executive Officer at Capital.com, expressed enthusiasm about the company's entry into the UAE market. He noted that the UAE's business-friendly environment, supportive market-entry requirements, thriving knowledge-based economy, and strategic location make it an ideal hub for innovative companies looking to expand globally. Zoumidou looks forward to Capital.com becoming an integral part of the #NextGenFDI community.

The #NextGenFDI Programme is a government-led initiative that encourages advanced companies worldwide to establish and grow their operations within the UAE. Capital.com’s involvement in this programme underscores its commitment to contributing to the UAE’s robust tech ecosystem and leveraging the region's deep talent pool. In 2022, Capital.com also sponsored the UAE’s NextGenTalent initiative, which aimed at nurturing local youth and preparing them for leadership roles in technology. This initiative brought together 5,000 students from Emirati universities to learn advanced technology skills from industry giants such as META, Oracle, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and Stripe.

Furthermore, Capital.com’s sponsorship of the Ministry of Economy’s activities at the inaugural COP 28 Trade Day last December reflects its dedication to supporting technological advancement and talent development within the UAE. As Capital Com MENA Securities Trading LLC begins its operations in the UAE, it signifies a significant step in Capital.com’s global growth strategy and its commitment to being at the forefront of financial technology innovation in one of the world’s most dynamic tech hubs.
