The much-anticipated GITEX ASIA x Ai Everything Singapore commenced with a vibrant start, drawing large crowds eager to engage in the event's dynamic agenda. Organised by Dubai World Trade Centre and KAOUN International, this inaugural Asian edition of the world-renowned show is taking place at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore from April 23-25. The theme 'Advancing Bold Partnerships in Asia' highlights the event's focus on tech, startups, and digital investments.

With over 700 enterprises and award-winning startups from more than 70 countries and 20 industry sectors, the event promises unparalleled access to new markets and opportunities. It features over 400 global expert speakers and 250 leading investors managing US$200 billion in assets. The opening ceremony celebrated technological innovation and collaboration, setting the tone for this three-day event.

Cybersecurity emerged as a key focus during GITEX ASIA x Ai Everything Singapore. Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity for the UAE Government, emphasised the importance of building a security culture that spans continents. He stated: "Cybercrime does not distinguish between nations, businesses, startups, or people – and this is why we must be the first line of defence against malicious actors."

David Koh, Commissioner of Cybersecurity and Chief Executive of Singapore's Cyber Security Agency, echoed these sentiments. He highlighted the need for international cooperation to create secure digital frameworks amidst geopolitical tensions. Koh remarked: "Singapore remains steadfast in our commitment to building a secure, open, resilient, and interoperable digital world."

Ahmed AlKetbi from the UAE Embassy in Singapore discussed the strong trade relationship between Singapore and the UAE. He noted that GITEX ASIA x Ai Everything serves as a platform to enhance bilateral trade relationships across various sectors. AlKetbi said: "The UAE and Singapore already share a robust SGD24 billion bilateral trade partnership."

The UAE-Singapore Comprehensive Partnership was formalised in 2019 to deepen ties further. This strategic framework aims to explore new growth avenues while reinforcing existing connections between both nations.

Healthcare Revolution in Asia

The potential transformation of Asia's healthcare market was another highlight at GITEX ASIA x Ai Everything Singapore. According to Boston Consulting Group, this market could reach US$5 trillion by 2030 due to technological advancements like AI-driven diagnostics.

Datuk Dr. Kuljit Singh from Malaysia's Association of Private Hospitals stressed ethical considerations in digital health innovations. He stated: "Digital health companies should prioritise transparency, ensuring AI-driven diagnostics are explainable and accountable."

Future Prospects and Opportunities

The event also provided insights into future market developments through discussions led by industry visionaries. Various feature events showcased debates on AI's impact across digital industries such as healthcare through GITEX Digi Health & Biotech.
