Cancer Run 2026 Aims For Guinness World Records With Most Nationalities In The UAE

Cancer Run 2026, presented by Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and organised by Plan b Group, is preparing a major UAE-wide awareness push, with runs in Abu Dhabi and Dubai aimed at cancer prevention, public education and an attempt to secure a Guinness World Records title through large-scale, multinational community participation.

The Abu Dhabi race is scheduled for 1st February at Hudayriyat Island, while the Dubai event will follow on 7th February at Dubai Festival City. Runners, families and wider communities are expected from across the UAE, with support from Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Dubai Sports Council to underline collective commitment to cancer awareness.

Cancer Run 2026 seeks Guinness record

Organisers intend for the Abu Dhabi edition to attempt a Guinness World Records title for the most nationalities taking part in a cancer awareness run. The record bid is designed to reflect the UAE’s diverse population and to show collective support for early detection and regular cancer screening across different communities.

Cancer Run 2026 is aligned with national programmes that expand mandatory early cancer screening and encourage preventive healthcare. The initiative highlights how physical activity, healthier daily habits and scheduled medical check-ups can lower cancer risks. It also draws attention to the benefits of detecting disease at an earlier, more treatable stage.

According to the latest National Cancer Registry report, the UAE registered 7,487 new cancer cases in 2023. Women represented about 56 percent of these diagnoses, and breast cancer remained among the most commonly identified types. Health specialists report survival and recovery rates of up to 98 percent for early-stage breast cancer cases, supported by improved screening.

Harmeek Singh, Founder and Chairman of Plan b Group, said, "Cancer Run is organised every year to raise health awareness and highlight the importance of early precautions that can save lives. This initiative aligns with the UAE’s vision of building a healthier society." Singh linked this message directly to broader public health goals in the country.

Cancer Run 2026 community partners and participation

Singh added that the Abu Dhabi event will aim to secure the Guinness World Records title through the collective participation of runners from diverse nationalities, united by a single message on the importance of regular cancer screening. Organisers expect the mix of participants to mirror the UAE’s multicultural population profile.

Cancer Run 2026 is supported by partners including Abu Dhabi Calendar, Dubai Calendar, Modon, Abu Dhabi Cycling Club, Abu Dhabi Media, Dubai Ambulance, Skechers, Fitness First, La Roche-Posay, Masafi, Pocari Sweat, Lovin Abu Dhabi, Lovin Dubai, Kibsons, Lemonade, NUMU Nursery, Value Vault and Tangerine Entertainment, reflecting broad institutional and corporate backing.

Now in its third year, Cancer Run 2026 continues to act as a platform for community involvement, public education and awareness on cancer risks. Registration for the Abu Dhabi and Dubai runs is open, with entry fees set at AED50 for children and AED75 for adults. Places are limited, so organisers expect strong interest from health-conscious residents.
