Cambodian Senior Minister Hosts Grand Mosque Imam To Foster Islamic Moderation
Cambodian Senior Minister In-Charge of Special Missions Dr. Osman Hussein welcomed Sheikh Dr. Bandar bin Abdulaziz Baleelah, imam and preacher of the Grand Mosque, in Phnom Penh on Wednesday. This meeting marked the start of Sheikh Baleelah’s official four-day visit to Cambodia, part of a program by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance.
Sheikh Baleelah conveyed greetings from Saudi Arabia's leadership to Cambodia's government and people, wishing them progress and prosperity. He affirmed that under King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Arabia is dedicated to the welfare of Muslims globally and extends goodwill universally.

Dr. Osman praised Saudi Arabia's efforts in serving Islam and Muslims, led by King Salman and the Crown Prince. He emphasized that the Cambodian Muslim community should embrace moderation, a core pillar of pure Islamic faith.
Sheikh Baleelah highlighted that Saudi Arabia leads the Islamic world in serving the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors. Significant developments at these holy sites ensure pilgrims can perform rituals with ease and tranquility.
The Kingdom's message is one of peace, love, and harmony, derived from the Holy Quran and Prophet Muhammad's teachings. This message promotes tolerance based on moderation and balance, principles advocated by Saudi Arabia.
Strengthening Bilateral Relations
Sheikh Baleelah noted that Saudi Arabia is keen on developing relations to serve mutual interests with Cambodia. He stated that one goal of his visit is to deepen cooperation in Islamic affairs to promote Islam's tolerance and moderation.
The visit aims to build nations and spread security and peace through cooperation with officials in Islamic affairs. Sheikh Baleelah stressed that this approach aligns with Saudi Arabia’s commitment to fostering global Muslim welfare.
