Burjeel Eye Institute At Burjeel Medical City Launches Advanced Ophthalmic Care In Abu Dhabi

Burjeel Medical City has opened the Burjeel Eye Institute to address growing demand for advanced ophthalmic care in Abu Dhabi. The specialised centre provides comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of eye diseases, offering personalised care that follows international clinical standards for children, adults and older patients across the emirate and the wider UAE.

The institute is based at Burjeel Medical City, the flagship hospital of Burjeel Holdings, and is designed to reduce the need for residents to travel abroad for complex eye procedures. Services focus on preserving vision, improving patients’ daily functioning and delivering outcomes comparable to established international eye centres, with safety and quality at the core of every treatment plan.

Burjeel Eye Institute Debuts in Abu Dhabi

The Burjeel Eye Institute is fitted with advanced diagnostic and surgical technologies, including laser platforms, high-resolution retinal and optic nerve imaging systems, and fully equipped operating theatres. These facilities are built to stringent safety standards and allow ophthalmologists to design tailored management pathways for each patient, based on precise imaging, clinical assessment and the complexity of the eye condition.

Clinical services span many subspecialties, ranging from cataract surgery and refractive procedures to complex retinal operations. The team manages glaucoma, corneal and ocular surface disorders, paediatric ophthalmology, strabismus, oculoplastic conditions and optic nerve diseases. This structure helps address rising rates of age-related eye disease, diabetes-linked complications and retinal disorders seen in Abu Dhabi and across the region.
