Buraidah Dates Carnival Becomes Central Hub For Date Distribution In Saudi Arabia

The Buraidah Dates Carnival, a major marketing event in Saudi Arabia, takes place in Buraidah. It sees over 1,000 vehicles daily, each loaded with tons of dates. Organised by the National Center for Palms and Dates and the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture's regional branch, it operates under Qassim Principality's supervision.

The export yard at Dates City handles thousands of tons of dates for packaging and distribution. These dates reach cities across Saudi Arabia and over 100 countries worldwide, including the United States, European nations, East Asian countries, and Arab and Gulf states. This facility is crucial for both domestic and international distribution.

Qassim Region produces more than 390,000 tons of dates annually. This substantial output strengthens the Kingdom’s food security and boosts Saudi agricultural exports. Farmers aim to increase this figure by planting over two million additional palm trees. This effort aligns with Saudi Vision 2030's goals to enhance non-oil revenues.

Every day, more than 500 medium and large trucks leave the export yard. They transport over 100 varieties of dates for which the region is famous. These dates are delivered across the Kingdom to processing factories that specialise in sorting, packaging, manufacturing, and converting them into integrated food products.

Additional quantities are sent to facilities focused on meeting specific requirements and quality control standards. This ensures that the dates are ready for export. The export yard acts as a central hub for distributing dates both domestically and internationally.

The Buraidah Dates Carnival plays a vital role in promoting Saudi Arabia's date industry globally. By supporting local farmers and enhancing export capabilities, it contributes significantly to the Kingdom's economy while aligning with national development goals.
