Celebrating 40 Years Of Diplomatic Relations Between UAE And China At Abu Dhabi Event

The "Building Bridges for the Future UAE and China" event commenced on Friday at Abu Dhabi's Corniche, marking 40 years of diplomatic ties between the UAE and China. This cultural festival, from 1st to 3rd November, showcases the rich traditions and shared future of both nations through cultural exhibitions, workshops, performances, and culinary experiences.

Distinguished guests attended the opening day, including Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qassimi, Minister of Culture; Zhang Yiming, China's Ambassador to the UAE; Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State; and Mohamed Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Tourism and Culture Authority – Abu Dhabi. The event began with a traditional Al-Ayyala dance, gahwa, and dates.

The festival is divided into three thematic areas: Past, Present, and Future. In the "Past" section, narrative scrolls illustrate key moments from the early days of UAE-China diplomatic relations. These displays highlight milestones that have shaped their current relationship. Visitors can explore these historical connections through engaging exhibits.

The "Present" area focuses on the theme of "walking together," featuring Kung Fu performances alongside Emirati cultural displays. These performances symbolise the harmony and mutual vision shared by both nations. The combination of Chinese martial arts and Emirati traditions reflects their collaborative spirit.

In the "Future" section, interactive exhibits encourage attendees to envision shared aspirations between the UAE and China. These displays represent ongoing efforts toward deeper collaboration. Visitors are invited to engage with these exhibits to imagine a future built on unity and progress.

The event continues until 3rd November with more live performances, immersive workshops, and unique culinary experiences. This celebration underscores the enduring connection between the UAE and China as they look forward to a future marked by shared values and mutual respect.
