British Showjumping Awards Sheikha Fatima Bint Hazza For Her Significant Contributions To Equestrian Sport
Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan has been honoured by British Showjumping for her significant impact on showjumping in the UK. Sheikha Fatima, who leads the Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy and owns Al Shira’aa Arabians, has been recognised for her contributions to the sport. This award underscores the strong ties between the UAE and the global showjumping community.
The award was presented at Hickstead during the CSIO5 King George V Gold Cup, now part of the Al Shira’aa Tour. This event is renowned for its historic significance in showjumping. UAE riders Omar Abdul Aziz Al Marzooqi and Abdullah Al Marri participated in this prestigious competition. Lizzie and Edward Bunn, Directors of Hickstead, handed over the award to Mohamed Ahmed Al Harbi and Khaula Al Nuaimi on behalf of Sheikha Fatima.

Sheikha Fatima is a passionate supporter of equestrian sports both in the UAE and globally. Her efforts extend to breeding initiatives based in the UK, where she plays a crucial role in developing Emirati riders for international competitions. Her influence also strengthens British breeding through her stallions and support of the AES studbook, promoting young horses' education and success.
Al Shira’aa has become a key player in international showjumping under Sheikha Fatima's guidance. The organisation supports emerging talent, sponsors elite events, and builds partnerships across the equestrian world. "It is an honour to be recognised by British Showjumping. Our mission with Al Shira’aa has always been to elevate the sport and support riders in reaching their highest potential, wherever in the world they may be," said Sheikha Fatima.
The Al Shira’aa team excelled at the King George V Gold Cup class. Omar Al Marzooqi achieved second place with Enjoy De La Mure after an impressive double clear round, finishing just 0.86 seconds behind the winner. Abdulla Al Marri also performed well, securing sixth place with BBS McGreggor, showcasing the depth of talent within Al Shira’aa's ranks.
The Al Shira’aa Tour made its return to Hickstead for the Young Horse Championships, which play a vital role in nurturing future stars of showjumping. Following this event, the tour will move to Germany for Turnier der Sieger at Munster Castle from 21-24 August for a CSI4* competition.
This recognition highlights Sheikha Fatima's dedication to advancing equestrian sports worldwide. Her efforts continue to inspire many within the community while fostering excellence among riders and horses alike.
