British Airways Reconnects Abu Dhabi And London With Daily Flights
Zayed International Airport marked a significant milestone today as it welcomed the first British Airways flight from London, resuming the service after a hiatus of four years. This development is a testament to the expanding network of international flights facilitated by the state-of-the-art terminal at Zayed International Airport. The reintroduction of the London-Abu Dhabi route is poised to bolster trade and tourism ties between the UAE and the UK, catering to the increasing demand for connectivity between these two global hubs.
The significance of this route is underscored by passenger statistics, with London Heathrow ranking among the top five destinations from Zayed International Airport. In the first quarter of 2024 alone, 290,000 passengers embarked on this journey, highlighting its popularity and the potential for growth in both tourism and business sectors.
Elena Sorlini, Managing Director and CEO at Abu Dhabi Airports, expressed enthusiasm about British Airways' operations commencement. "We extend a warm welcome to British Airways as they start operating at Zayed International Airport with a daily schedule that promises to enrich connectivity and invigorate both business and tourism between the UAE and the UK," she stated. Sorlini also emphasized the exceptional experience offered by the new terminal, which combines award-winning design with Emirati hospitality.
Calum Laming, Chief Customer Officer at British Airways, shared his excitement about the launch. He remarked on the significance of adding Abu Dhabi to their global network, offering customers a choice of four cabins, including First Class. Laming highlighted the airline's commitment to providing outstanding service through its dedicated team.
