Border Falcons Showcases Initial Batch Of 40 Birds At IFBA 2025 Auction In Riyadh
Border Falcons, a falconry farm based in Britain, has joined the International Falcon Breeders Auction (IFBA) 2025 with an initial group of 40 falcons. This event is hosted by the Saudi Falcons Club at its headquarters in Malham, north of Riyadh, and will continue until August 25. The farm's owner, Jeff Armstrong, mentioned that this is their second year participating, having entered with about 60 falcons last year.
Armstrong explained that the first batch of 40 birds has already arrived, and another group is expected within two days. He attributed his delayed attendance to the young age of some birds that were not ready to travel yet. Consequently, he had to remain with them until they were prepared for the journey.

The IFBA is acknowledged as the largest auction of its kind globally. It attracts elite falcon breeds from across the world and serves as an annual gathering for falconers and breeders. The event underscores the club's significant role in preserving falconry heritage and supporting the falcon production industry.
Armstrong expressed his appreciation for the substantial efforts made by the Saudi Falcons Club to assist participating breeders. These efforts include facilitating transportation and lodging while ensuring continuous care for the falcons throughout the auction period.
Looking ahead, Armstrong plans to change his approach for future auctions by accompanying the first batch of falcons along with his wife and daughter. This adjustment aims to ensure a smoother participation process in upcoming events.
The auction not only highlights the club's dedication but also enhances Saudi Arabia’s reputation as a global hub for falcons and falconers. The event plays a crucial role in promoting both local and international interest in this traditional practice.
