BRIDGE Summit Highlights UAE's Emergence As A Global Media Hub With Economic Impact

The first BRIDGE Summit has solidified the UAE's status as a key player in the global media and content sectors. It emerged as an international platform that merges media, economy, and investment, directly influencing economic diversification and enhancing the UAE's appeal to worldwide investors.

Held in Abu Dhabi, the Summit showcased a modern approach to global events. This event attracted over 40,000 participants from 182 countries, including global media leaders, major company executives, investors, content creators, artists, and innovators.

The Summit evolved into a strategic investment hub generating real economic value. A total of 468 companies registered through its Business Centre. Among them, 100 companies joined specialised sessions; 56 received immediate licences while 55 are under review. Additionally, 48 agreements were made, with investments reaching US$200 million.

The large-scale international participation boosted hospitality, logistics, and services sectors. This influx created new income streams and injected liquidity into the local economy. The strong turnout highlights the UAE's attractive investment climate and its ability to convert global interest into tangible projects.

The Summit featured panel discussions, workshops, and keynote sessions on topics like the future of media, video journalism, generative AI ethics, creative economy, and media in the Global South. It also showcased cutting-edge production technologies such as virtual reality and augmented reality.

Numerous memoranda of understanding in media and investment were signed during the event. International initiatives and awards in video journalism and media innovation were launched alongside training programmes for young professionals. Cross-border research projects further emphasized global collaboration.

Future Prospects for Global Media

The outcomes of the BRIDGE Summit confirmed the UAE's success in merging media with economic strategies. This marked a shift from media being just an event transmitter to becoming an impact creator. It strengthened the UAE's position as a global centre for content creation and innovation.
