Brand Dubai Store Celebrates Talented Emirati Women Artists At Hatta Winter Festival

The Hatta Winter Festival, under the guidance of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, showcases the Brand Dubai Store. This initiative, part of the Government of Dubai Media Office's creative arm, highlights the artistic talents of Emirati women. Artists like Reem Almarri and Wdeema BinTouq contribute to over 20 unique artworks that celebrate Hatta and Dubai's culture and beauty.

These artworks are transformed into exclusive products available at the festival. The artists employ diverse techniques such as embroidery, digital art, and traditional methods like pencil and ink. Their innovative approaches reflect their creative versatility. The festival is set against the scenic backdrop of Leem Lake in the Hatta Mountains.

Emirati Women Artists Shine at Hatta Festival

The broader Hatta Winter initiative runs from 13th December 2024 to 22nd January 2025. It includes five festivals: Hatta Winter Festival, Hatta Cultural Nights, Hatta Honey Festival, Hatta Agricultural Festival, and Hatta x DSF. These events highlight Hatta's appeal as a winter destination with cultural, educational, and sports activities for various audiences.

Sara Merdas from the Organising Committee expressed excitement about showcasing over 20 artworks by ten talented Emirati women. "We are delighted to showcase over 20 exceptional artworks by ten talented Emirati women, highlighting the beauty of Dubai and Hatta. Displayed creatively across festival locations, this initiative supports the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to make Dubai an open-air museum." She noted that these pieces draw inspiration from Dubai's rich cultural heritage using innovative techniques.

The festival offers around 120 workshops focusing on art and craft skills inspired by Hatta's natural and cultural heritage. This provides a platform for families and enthusiasts to engage in diverse activities. The Supreme Committee oversees this development as part of the larger initiative to enhance Hatta's profile.

Key partners like Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai Municipality, Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), Dubai Sports Council, and the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) collaborate on this initiative. RTA ensures smooth transportation with direct bus services offering 14 trips daily to Hatta.

Transportation Facilities

Seamless transport is provided with 17 internal buses serving event venues alongside shuttles to attractions like the Hatta Dam. This ensures visitors can easily explore all festival offerings while enjoying the scenic beauty of Hatta.

The festival continues until 12th January 2025, inviting visitors to experience both the natural charm of Hatta and the creativity of Emiratis. It serves as a testament to their entrepreneurial spirit while promoting cultural exchange through various engaging activities.
