Brand Dubai And RTA Unveil Visual Tribute To UAE’s Founding Fathers On Dubai Metro

Brand Dubai, the creative division of the Government of Dubai Media Office, has introduced a visual homage to the UAE’s Founding Fathers on the Dubai Metro’s Red Line. This artistic display includes images of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, along with verses from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's poem ‘The People and the Leader’. The initiative celebrates their enduring legacy.

The project is part of the #ZayedAndRashid campaign, launched during Dubai's 'National Month' celebrations. It was implemented in collaboration with Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Extending from Centrepoint to Expo 2020 stations, these visuals are seen by thousands daily. They serve as a reminder of the founding leaders' crucial role in shaping national progress.

Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, stated: "This creative project forms part of the second edition of the #ZayedAndRashid campaign, organised by Brand Dubai under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council. The initiative honours the legacy of the Founding Fathers and celebrates their values, which continue to inspire current and future generations across the UAE."

Al Suwaidi further explained that using Dubai Metro as a platform highlights unity and partnership values embodied by Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Rashid. She expressed gratitude for RTA's collaboration in this project, which reflects harmony between national identity and Dubai’s modern urban landscape.

Fatma Al Khumiri, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communication at RTA, noted that this initiative aligns with RTA’s vision to reinforce national identity across public transport networks serving millions annually. "The Dubai Metro has become a dynamic space that not only connects communities but also highlights shared values and strengthens collective belonging. Decorating the carriages with images of the Founding Fathers reflects Dubai’s ongoing journey of uniting authenticity with progress."

Broader Celebrations

This installation is part of broader events organised by Brand Dubai for 'National Month'. These include Umm Suqeim Beach's Flag Garden, large-scale artwork at The Gate Building in DIFC, and various cultural experiences until 2 December. The celebrations highlight Dubai's cultural diversity and offer residents and visitors a chance to connect with UAE’s national story.

Organised for a second year under H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's directives, these celebrations encourage audiences to share experiences using #ZayedAndRashid. This initiative reflects both cultural richness and social diversity within Dubai while fostering connections with its national heritage.
