Brand Dubai Unveils 11th Edition Of Flag Garden Celebrating UAE Founding Fathers

Brand Dubai, part of the Government of Dubai Media Office, has unveiled the 11th Flag Garden at Jumeirah Beach, Umm Suqeim 2. This year's display is part of the #ZayedAndRashid campaign, showcasing UAE flags to honour the Founding Fathers, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. The garden features 11,600 flags forming aerial portraits of these leaders, celebrating their pivotal roles in the nation's development.

Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, highlighted that this year's Flag Garden pays tribute to two national icons who significantly contributed to the UAE's growth over the past five decades. "This year’s Flag Garden honours two national icons who played historical roles in the UAE’s comprehensive development since its founding over 50 years ago," she said. The garden reflects the #ZayedAndRashid campaign's theme of remembering these visionary leaders who laid the groundwork for the country's progress.

The expansive garden spans 75 metres in length and 104 metres in height, making it Brand Dubai's largest installation to date. It symbolises unity among Emiratis and serves as a source of national pride during significant celebrations. Al Suwaidi noted that the design embodies loyalty and belonging felt by UAE citizens towards their leadership.

Mahra Alyouha, Project Manager of Flag Garden, mentioned that this event has become a landmark attraction over the past decade. "Over the past decade, Flag Garden has become a landmark event attracting thousands of visitors each year," she stated. The 2024 edition aligns with major national events such as UAE Flag Day on 3 November and Eid Al Etihad on 2 December. The garden will remain open to citizens, residents, and tourists until 10 January 2025.

Last year's edition honoured Dubai's leadership for their role in advancing various sectors within the city. It featured portraits of prominent figures like His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and other key leaders from Dubai's ruling family.

#ZayedAndRashid Campaign

The #ZayedAndRashid campaign was launched under H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's directives. It aims to celebrate important national occasions across the UAE. This initiative is implemented with government and private sector partners and coincides with UAE Flag Day and Eid Al Etihad celebrations from 3 November to 2 December.

Visitors are encouraged to share their experiences at Flag Garden on social media using #UAEFlagGarden. This initiative highlights a vibrant array of festivities throughout Dubai during this period.

The Flag Garden continues to be a testament to national pride and unity while celebrating key milestones in UAE history. Through creative displays and symbolic designs, it honours those who have shaped the nation into what it is today.
