Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Opens First Bitcoin MENA Conference In Abu Dhabi To Foster Digital Currency Innovation
The Bitcoin MENA Conference was inaugurated by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi. This marks the first time the conference is held in the Middle East, underscoring the region's increasing influence in the global digital currency landscape. The event has drawn over 5,200 experts and decision-makers from around the world.
Participants from 55 countries are attending, with 120 notable speakers sharing insights on Bitcoin and digital currency trends. The accompanying exhibition covers more than 8,000 square metres, featuring innovations from 500 leading companies and brands. Sheikh Nahyan stated, "The Bitcoin MENA Conference reaffirms the UAE’s commitment to positioning Abu Dhabi as a global hub for innovation and technology."
Sheikh Nahyan emphasised that hosting such events reflects Abu Dhabi's dedication to initiatives that drive technological and economic progress. He highlighted digital currencies' role in shaping the global economy, noting their foundation on blockchain technology promotes transparency and efficiency. "As digital currencies continue to gain global traction, they have become key symbols of economic digital transformation," he added.
Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security, remarked on significant transformations in blockchain technologies and virtual currencies. He noted these developments position the UAE as a leader in leveraging artificial intelligence for a secure digital future. The UAE is committed to fostering a thriving digital community through partnerships, innovation, and governance.
Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNEC Group, highlighted the strategic importance of hosting this conference in Abu Dhabi. He stated it aligns with ADNEC Group’s strategy to support emerging industries and reflects the UAE’s vision for the next fifty years. It strengthens Abu Dhabi’s position as a capital for advanced industries and technologies.

He said, "Bitcoin is no longer just a digital currency; it symbolises transparency, autonomy, and a redefined global financial framework."
