Ras Al Khaimah Police Launches 'Beware Of Cybercrime' Campaign

In a recent initiative to combat online fraud, the Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command, in collaboration with the Ras Al Khaimah Broadcasting Authority, has unveiled the 'Beware of Cybercrime’ campaign. This initiative seeks to educate the public on the dangers cybercrime and the importance of vigilance online.

It represents a strategic collaboration between the police force's Media and Public Relations Department and the Department of Criminal Investigations, underscoring the UAE Ministry of Interior's commitment to improving the quality of life through innovative and forward-thinking services.

Colonel Hamad Abdullah Al Awadhi, who heads the Media and Public Relations Department at Ras Al Khaimah Police, outlined that the campaign will include a series of interactive live dialogue sessions. These sessions will feature interviews with specialists in preventing cybercrime and will shed light on the tactics used by cybercriminals, such as fake electronic links, phishing attempts, telephone fraud, and bogus job offers.

Colonel Al Awadhi emphasized, "The campaign aims to educate the public on ways to avoid becoming a victim of fraud, scams and electronic blackmail," highlighting the educational aspect of this initiative.

Furthermore, Colonel Al Awadhi called upon the community to actively engage with the campaign. He encouraged participation as an avenue for individuals to share their experiences and enhance their understanding of best practices in avoiding and dealing with cybercrime.

"We highly encourage the community to participate in this campaign, which offers an ideal opportunity for participants to share their experiences and opinions on cybercrime, and expand their knowledge about the most effective ways to help avoid it and effectively address it," he stated.

He also urged the community to report any suspicious activities to the authorities, reinforcing the importance of public cooperation with the police in maintaining security and safety across the Emirate.
