UAE Ship Arrives At Beirut Port With 3000 Tonnes Of Relief Supplies For Lebanon

The second aid ship from the UAE has docked at Beirut Port, bringing 3,000 tonnes of relief supplies. This effort is part of the "UAE stands with Lebanon" initiative. The campaign began in early October last year, following directives from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan are overseeing the campaign.

Dr. Nasser Yassin, Lebanon's Minister of Environment and Head of Government Emergencies, welcomed the ship. He was joined by Brigadier General Bassem Nabulsi, Chairman of the Supreme Relief Authority. The supplies include food items, essentials for women and children, winter necessities, and shelter equipment.

Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Vice Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, highlighted the UAE's dedication to supporting Lebanon during this crisis. He stated that this commitment reflects the humanitarian values instilled by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. "This commitment emanates from the humanitarian legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in extending a helping hand to nations in distress," he added.

The UAE's swift response aims to facilitate early recovery and stability in Lebanon. This effort is coordinated with Lebanese authorities and international organisations to ensure effective aid delivery.

The relief shipment includes a variety of essential goods tailored to meet immediate needs. These supplies are crucial for addressing food security and providing necessary items for vulnerable groups such as women and children during winter.

This initiative underscores the UAE's ongoing support for Lebanon amid challenging circumstances. By providing timely assistance, the UAE demonstrates its commitment to humanitarian efforts globally.
