Behavioral Exchange 2025 Unveils Agenda Featuring Over 500 International Experts In Abu Dhabi

The UAE is set to host the Behavioral Exchange™ (BX2025) in the MENA region, gathering over 500 leaders globally and regionally. This event will explore how behavioral science is reshaping policy and society. Scheduled for 30th April to 1st May, BX2025 will be under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Organised by the Behavioral Science Group (BSG) within the UAE Government’s Office of Development Affairs, this event collaborates with the Behavioral Insights Team (BIT) and New York University Abu Dhabi's Centre for Behavioral Institutional Design (C-BID). The agenda features a keynote by Shamma bint Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Community Development.

Behavioral Exchange 2025 Announces Expert Agenda

Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, President and CEO of the UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators, will participate in a session on large-scale climate action. This discussion will delve into how individual behavior can significantly impact climate change efforts. Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, will discuss applying social norms research to enhance national policy.

Hajer Al Thehli, Secretary-General of the Council for Education, Human Development, and Community, will address how behavioral insights can improve parental involvement in education. Dr. Najwa Al Aaraj from the Technology Innovation Institute will explore human behavior's role in effective policy design amid artificial intelligence advancements.

Dr. Tareq Ahmed Al Ameri emphasised Abu Dhabi's significance as a host city for this pioneering conference in the Middle East. He noted that it brings together experts to advance knowledge in behavioral science fields crucial for sustainable development goals across sectors like education, health, energy, and climate.

Rasha Attar from the Behavioral Science Group highlighted Abu Dhabi’s leadership in development and innovation through hosting this international event. She pointed out its role in fostering global collaboration and delivering impactful community-focused programmes.

Academic Contributions and Partnerships

Fabio Piano from NYU Abu Dhabi remarked on BX2025 as a milestone for C-BID and NYUAD. He stated that it underscores Abu Dhabi’s growing influence as a hub for behavioral science. "We look forward to the knowledge exchange and partnerships this gathering will spark," he said.

Piano also stressed engaging university students in international scientific dialogue while ensuring cultural diversity is respected. The conference aims to translate institutional partnerships into lasting impacts aligned with global priorities.

Diverse Participation from Leading Institutions

The conference will feature prominent figures like Professor Cass Sunstein from Harvard Law School and Professor David Halpern from the UK Behavioral Insights Team. Scholars from institutions such as Columbia Business School, London School of Economics, Yale University, NYU, University of Cambridge, University of Toronto, and Princeton University are also participating.
