Barakatna Clinic Launches Comprehensive Healthcare Services For Seniors Over 65 In Abu Dhabi

Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC), part of PureHealth, has introduced the Barakatna Clinic. This new healthcare service is tailored for individuals over 65 years old. The initiative is managed by the Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi, in partnership with the Family Development Foundation and other social sector organisations. It aims to improve the quality of life for older residents in Abu Dhabi.

The Barakatna Clinic represents a significant step forward in geriatric care within Abu Dhabi. It offers a comprehensive and integrated service to tackle health issues faced by seniors. Mariam Mohammed Al Rumaithi, Director-General of the Family Development Foundation, stated that the clinic's opening at SSMC aligns with H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak's vision. As Chairwoman of the General Women's Union and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, she aims to enhance senior citizens' quality of life, ensuring their health and social well-being.

Dr Marwan Al Kaabi, CEO at SSMC, expressed that "The Barakatna Clinic enhances our expanding portfolio of specialised care services, dedicated to securing a healthier life and future for everyone in our community." He emphasised that this clinic will provide compassionate care through a multidisciplinary approach, reflecting UAE’s values of unity and family cohesion.
