Bangladesh Interim Leader Prof. Muhammad Yunus Shares Vision For Rebuilding Society And Restoring Public Trust

During the World Governments Summit 2025, Prof. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor of Bangladesh's caretaker government, engaged in a discussion with CNN's Becky Anderson. However, he returned to Bangladesh when an emergency arose and the youth called for his leadership.

The immediate priority for Yunus and the caretaker government is to establish law and order. This step is crucial for preparing the nation for free and fair elections expected in late 2025 or early 2026. As Yunus oversees Bangladesh's transition, he remains committed to stepping down once elections are held and an elected government takes over. "When my job is done, I will hand over the responsibility to the elected government and go back to what I enjoyed doing most," he affirmed.
