Bahrain International Airport Wins Big At The World Airport Awards
Bahrain International Airport (BIA) has been awarded the title of 'Best Airport Staff in the Middle East 2024' by Skytrax for the second consecutive year at the World Airport Awards. This accolade, determined by the largest annual global airport customer satisfaction survey, highlights the exceptional service provided by airport staff. The prestigious award was accepted by Gulf Air Group (GFG) Chairman Zayed R. Alzayani and Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) CEO Mohamed Yousif AlBinfalah at the 2024 Passenger Terminal Expo in Frankfurt, Germany.
The World Airport Awards are based on survey responses from over 60 nationalities, evaluating various aspects of the customer experience at airports worldwide. In addition to this honor, BIA also received the top 5-Star Airport Rating for the third year in a row, acknowledging its ongoing commitment to operational excellence and customer service.
Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax, praised BIA for its outstanding staff service across all customer-facing areas. Alzayani attributed this achievement to the hard work of BIA and BAC employees, emphasizing the importance of Bahraini competencies in delivering a seamless travel experience. He also highlighted the strong support from Bahrain's leadership, including His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Alzayani further noted Gulf Air Group's commitment to empowering its Bahraini workforce and investing in human capital to uphold global industry standards. He proudly mentioned that BAC has achieved a Bahrainization ratio of up to 90%, which is a testament to the strategic initiatives undertaken over the years.
