AviLease Places Strategic Order For Up To 77 Airbus A320neo Family And A350F Aircraft
AviLease, a Saudi Arabian aircraft leasing company, has announced a significant order for up to 77 aircraft from Airbus. This includes 55 A320neo Family and 22 A350F aircraft, with deliveries planned until 2033. This move aims to enhance AviLease's fleet with modern, fuel-efficient planes for both passenger and cargo services, supporting the growth of Saudi Arabia’s aviation sector.
The agreement was formalised at the Paris Air Show by AviLease CEO Edward O’Byrne and Airbus Commercial Aircraft's Executive Vice President of Sales, Benoît de Saint-Exupéry. O’Byrne expressed pride in establishing an Airbus order book, stating that it strengthens AviLease's position as a global lessor offering modern fleet solutions. He highlighted the collaboration with local stakeholders in selecting the A350F to meet Saudi Vision 2030 targets.

Chairman Fahad AlSaif noted that this is AviLease's second major deal within two months, reflecting its ambition to become a top global player in aircraft leasing. These milestones align with the Public Investment Fund’s goals under Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and the National Aviation Strategy. The company aims to strengthen its role as a national champion in the aviation industry.
Saint-Exupéry welcomed AviLease as Airbus' newest customer with this substantial order. He emphasised that the A350F sets new standards in air cargo with reduced fuel consumption, better loading capacity, and extended range. The A320neo Family remains popular globally as a single-aisle aircraft choice. This dual order reinforces AviLease’s reputation as a leading lessor.
Last month, AviLease also ordered 30 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, adding to its existing portfolio of 200 leased planes across 48 airlines worldwide. This expansion demonstrates AviLease's commitment to providing advanced fleet solutions to its airline partners both locally and internationally.
O’Byrne acknowledged strong local partnerships and demand aligned with Saudi Vision 2030 targets as key factors in securing necessary delivery slots for future growth in air cargo traffic within the Kingdom. He expressed gratitude towards local partners and Airbus for their enduring partnership and looked forward to deploying these aircraft among valued customers.
AviLease’s strategic investments are set to bolster its capabilities in delivering cutting-edge fleet solutions while contributing significantly to Saudi Arabia’s aviation ecosystem expansion. By aligning with national strategies, AviLease is poised for substantial growth in the global aviation market.
