AviLease Secures First Direct Order Of 30 Boeing 737 MAX Aircraft To Enhance Fleet Efficiency

AviLease, a global aircraft leasing company based in Saudi Arabia, has entered into an agreement with Boeing to purchase 30 Boeing 737-8 aircraft. This marks AviLease's first direct order from an original equipment manufacturer (OEM). The investment aims to offer fuel-efficient fleet solutions to its global clients and support the growth of Saudi Arabia's aviation sector. Deliveries are planned through 2032.

Fahad AlSaif, Chairman of AviLease, stated: "This strategic order reflects AviLease’s long-term ambition of becoming a top 10 global leader in aircraft leasing, while strengthening AviLease’s position as a national champion. This aligns with the mandate of PIF to contribute to the goals of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and the National Aviation Strategy." The order supports Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 by enhancing the country's aviation capabilities.

The CEO of AviLease, Edward O’Byrne, expressed satisfaction with their first direct OEM order. He noted that this move complements their strategy to reach the industry's top tier. "Building on our recently achieved investment grade ratings, this transaction proves our ability to transact across all market channels, including sale and lease-back, secondary trading, M&A, and now direct OEM purchasing," he added.

Brad McMullen, Senior Vice President at Boeing, commented on the strengthened partnership with AviLease. "With this order, we are strengthening our relationship with a key Saudi Arabian commercial aviation partner and expanding the global presence of the 737 MAX," he said. The addition of these aircraft will diversify AviLease's portfolio with advanced single-aisle technology.

The new Boeing 737-8 aircraft will enhance AviLease's operations by providing versatile and fuel-efficient options for airlines. These planes will help meet business and sustainability objectives for airline customers worldwide.
