Abu Dhabi Welcomes International Experts For Autism Research Conference
The 12th edition of the International Conference on Autism Research Updates, under the theme "Challenges and Solutions," has officially commenced in Abu Dhabi. This pivotal event is dedicated to enhancing understanding of autism spectrum disorder and disseminating the latest findings in autism research. The conference boasts an impressive lineup of over 100 speakers from more than 20 countries, offering sessions, workshops, lectures, and interactive dialogue sessions aimed at both parents and decision-makers. This global gathering is supported through collaborations with notable organizations such as ADNOC, SEHA, and Lotus Holistic Abu Dhabi and is set to run until April 30th.
Abdullah Al-Hamidani, Secretary-General of Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination, shared his aspirations for the conference's role in advancing care and rehabilitation for individuals with autism. He underscored the necessity of a comprehensive strategy that includes robust support systems for children, alongside heightened awareness among families and professionals. Dr. Noura Khamees Al Ghaithi, Deputy CEO of SEHA, shed light on the critical role of genetic research in unlocking new insights into autism, which could lead to more precise diagnostic tools and treatments. She also touched upon the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre's initiatives aimed at supporting those with autism.
Further contributions came from Dr. Amani Al Hashimi, Acting Director-General of the Government Talent Directorate, who spoke on efforts to integrate people with disabilities into the workforce and society at large. Highlighting the significance of early detection and intervention, she pointed out how these measures can significantly enhance life quality for individuals with autism. Dr. Abdulhamid Abdulhay, an Executive Committee Member of the conference, expressed his gratitude towards H.H. Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his patronage and emphasized the importance of societal integration for individuals with autism.
The conference is not only a platform for sharing initial knowledge but also aims to expedite the spread of effective medical and educational strategies for those affected by autism. These artistic contributions underscored the conference's commitment to celebrating the abilities and potential of individuals with autism while fostering a deeper understanding of their challenges and needs.
