Authority For The Care Of The Two Holy Mosques Pavilion Offers Unique Sensory Experience At Umrah Forum
The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque showcased an immersive experience at the Umrah and Ziyarah Forum's second edition. Visitors embarked on a sensory journey from Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifah in Madinah to the Holy Kaaba in Makkah. This journey was divided into five booths, each dedicated to one of the human senses.
The journey commenced with the hearing booth, where visitors explored the intricate sound systems of the two holy mosques. Through live displays, they experienced imams’ loudspeakers and reverent audio clips of Quranic verses, supplications, and calls to prayer. These were accessed via iPads connected to headphones, enriching their auditory experience.

Next was the smell booth, which highlighted fragrances used in both mosques. Scents such as oud oil, Taif rose perfume, and incense sticks were showcased. The purification team conducted an interactive session demonstrating how these fragrances are blended for washing the Holy Kaaba.
The touch booth offered samples of carpets from both mosques, illustrating their evolution over time. Visitors could feel Thassos marble known for its coolness and examine tools and threads used in crafting the Holy Kaaba’s Kiswa. Detailed explanations covered embroidery components made of silk and gold-plated silver.
In the sight booth, 3D models of key landmarks from both holy mosques were displayed. These included representations of the Black Stone, Maqam Ibrahim, and other significant features like the Prophet’s Mosque mihrab and pulpit. Artistic visual displays captured visitors' attention effectively.
Culinary Traditions Explored
The tasting booth provided Ajwa dates and Zamzam water for visitors to sample. It also featured traditional tools once used for drinking and storing Zamzam water. A detailed model of the Zamzam well was displayed, showing its depth, water sources, and how it is transported to Madinah.
This unique sensory journey allowed visitors to engage deeply with elements central to Islamic tradition. By experiencing these aspects through different senses, participants gained a richer understanding of their cultural significance within these sacred sites.
