Authority For The Care Of The Two Holy Mosques Pavilion Offers Unique Sensory Experience At Umrah Forum

The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has crafted an engaging experience at the Umrah and Ziyarah Forum's second edition. Visitors embark on an interactive journey from Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifah in Madinah to the Holy Kaaba in Makkah. This journey is divided into five booths, each highlighting one of the human senses.

The journey begins with the hearing booth, where visitors explore the intricate sound system of the two holy mosques. Through a live display, imams’ loudspeakers and reverent audio clips of Quranic verses, supplications, and calls to prayer are showcased. These are accessed via an iPad connected to headphones, enhancing the auditory experience.

Next is the smell booth, which showcases scents used in the holy mosques like oud oil, Taif rose perfume, and incense sticks. The purification team conducts a live demonstration on blending these fragrances for washing the Holy Kaaba. This interactive session provides insight into maintaining sacred spaces.

The touch booth offers samples of carpets from both holy mosques, illustrating their evolution over time. Visitors can feel Thassos marble, known for its coolness, and examine tools used in crafting the Holy Kaaba’s Kiswa. Detailed explanations cover embroidery components made of silk and gold-plated silver.

In the sight booth, 3D models of key landmarks from the Two Holy Mosques are displayed. These include the Black Stone, Maqam Ibrahim, and elements from the Prophet’s Mosque like its mihrab and pulpit. Artistic visual displays capture visitors’ attention by showcasing these significant religious sites.

Taste Booth Highlights

The tasting booth allows visitors to sample Ajwa dates and Zamzam water. Traditional tools once used for drinking and storing Zamzam water are also featured here. A detailed model of the Zamzam well is presented, illustrating its depth, water sources, and how water is transported to Madinah.

This unique sensory journey through dedicated booths provides a comprehensive understanding of cultural and religious practices at these sacred sites. By engaging all five senses, visitors gain a deeper appreciation for their spiritual significance.
