AUS Showcases Emerging Talents At Six Degrees Offsite Exhibition During Dubai Design Week

The American University of Sharjah's (AUS) College of Architecture, Art and Design (CAAD) is showcasing its Six Degrees Offsite Exhibition at Dubai Design Week from 5th to 10th November 2024. This annual exhibition features the work of graduating CAAD students and is highly anticipated by the UAE's design community. This year marks AUS's debut presentation at Dubai Design Week.

Following its initial display in June 2024, this special travelling edition highlights a curated selection of projects by Spring 2024 graduates, now CAAD alumni, who are making significant strides in the design industry. The exhibition provides an opportunity for the creative community and industry professionals to engage with the impactful work of these emerging talents as they transition from academia to professional careers.

AUS Presents Six Degrees Exhibition in Dubai

In addition to the main exhibition, Dubai Design Week will feature several projects and artworks from AUS alumni, current faculty, and students. This further underscores the substantial contributions of AUS’s architecture and design community to the region. The event offers a platform for showcasing their innovative work to a broader audience.

Dr. Varkki Pallathucheril, Dean of CAAD, expressed his thoughts on this initiative: "At CAAD, we foster our students’ curiosity, creative drive and ambition; we encourage them to challenge popular paradigms. This sampling of work by recent graduates allows visitors to see the transformation that takes place during their time at AUS. It explains why many of our alumni go on to lead or found some of the region's most well-known design and architecture practices. We’re grateful to Dubai Design Week for providing our students a platform for sharing their work with the design community at large."

The Six Degrees Offsite exhibition will be open daily from 10:00 to 22:00 at Building 6 in Dubai Design District. Alongside this exhibition, AUS is organising two talks at the same venue. These events aim to further engage attendees with insights into contemporary design practices and innovations emerging from AUS.

This year's participation in Dubai Design Week marks a significant milestone for AUS as it brings its acclaimed student showcase to a wider audience. The event not only highlights the creative achievements of recent graduates but also reinforces AUS's role in shaping future leaders in architecture and design within the region.
