Aster Hospitals UAE, a leading force in integrated healthcare within the GCC under Aster DM Healthcare, has been honored with a prestigious accreditation by the Emirates International Accreditation Centre (EIAC) for the hospital sector. This landmark achievement marks Aster as the first hospital chain in the UAE to receive this distinction.
The accolade was bestowed upon five of Aster's facilities, including Aster Hospital - Al Mankhool, Aster Cedars Hospital – Jebel Ali, Aster Hospital - Al Qusais, Aster Hospital - Muhaisnah, and Aster Day Surgery Center - Al Mankhool, in a ceremony graced by Ms. Amina Ahmed Mohammed, CEO of EIAC, and Dr. Marwan Al Mulla, CEO of the Health Regulation Sector at the Dubai Health Authority, on World Patient Safety Day.

The international recognition by the EIAC, which is endorsed by the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua), underscores Aster's unwavering commitment to healthcare excellence. The EIAC, inaugurated in 2015 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, aims to instill confidence, quality assurance, and trust within various sectors, including healthcare, across Dubai. This accreditation emphasizes the high quality and safety standards that Aster Hospitals adheres to, setting a benchmark in patient care within the region.
Aster Hospitals underwent a thorough evaluation process assessing various standards such as Ethical Conduct, Structure & Governance, Resources, Health Safety & Risk, Healthcare Services, and Continuous Evaluation & Improvement. This process highlights Aster's dedication to not only maintaining but constantly enhancing the quality of healthcare services and the safety protocols in place across its facilities. It reflects the organization's commitment to excellence and its proactive approach to healthcare service provision.
"Receiving the EIAC accreditation is a testament to Aster's commitment to providing world-class healthcare services while adhering to the highest standards of patient safety. This recognition further reinforces our vision to make quality healthcare easily accessible and ensure the well-being of every individual who walks through our doors. It's an honor to be recognized on World Patient Safety Day, a day dedicated to the most critical aspect of healthcare – the safety and care of our patients," stated Ms. Alisha Moopen, Managing Director & Group CEO, Aster DM Healthcare FZC.
Dr. Sherbaz Bichu, CEO of Aster Hospitals and Clinics for the UAE, Oman, and Bahrain, also expressed the significance of this milestone for the healthcare sector in the UAE. He highlighted the stringent standards and evaluations met during the accreditation process, underscoring the organization's relentless pursuit of clinical excellence and patient safety. The accreditation not only elevates Aster Hospitals' status but also assures patients of the high-quality medical care and safety standards in place.
This recognition for Aster Hospitals UAE extends to key facilities in Dubai, which are now acknowledged for adhering to internationally accepted standards of quality and safety. The EIAC accreditation serves as a further testament to Aster's ongoing efforts to elevate patient care, safety protocols, and service standards.
It assures patients of receiving superior medical care in facilities that prioritize their safety and well-being.
