Assistant Minister Of Industry Discusses Enhanced Cooperation In Innovation And Advanced Manufacturing With Singapore
Dr. Abdullah bin Ali Al-Ahmari, Assistant Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Planning and Development, visited Singapore to enhance industrial ties. He engaged with key officials and industry leaders to bolster cooperation in research, innovation, and advanced manufacturing. The focus was on aligning with global standards in industrial infrastructure and human capital development.
During his visit, Dr. Al-Ahmari met David Tan, Assistant CEO of JTC Corporation under Singapore's Ministry of Trade and Industry. They discussed creating an integrated industrial ecosystem linking academia, research centres, and innovation hubs. The conversation also covered smart industrial solutions and advanced technologies for industrial cities.

Dr. Al-Ahmari also held discussions with the Executive Director of the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association (SSIA). They explored trends in the semiconductor sector and opportunities for knowledge exchange. This aligns with Saudi Arabia's aim to boost national capabilities in advanced manufacturing through technology transfer.
In another meeting, Dr. Al-Ahmari spoke with Meinhardt Group's Executive Chairman Dr. Shahzad Nasim and CEO Omar Shahzad. Their talks focused on potential collaboration in developing industrial infrastructure and implementing engineering solutions for smart cities.
The assistant minister toured Nanyang Technological University (NTU), reviewing its advanced research practices at the AUMOVIO-NTU Corporate Lab. He met NTU's Vice President Professor Lam Khin Yong to discuss cooperation in research, innovation, and talent development for the industrial and mining sectors.
Additionally, Dr. Al-Ahmari visited the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) in Singapore. He met Suresh Natarajan, CEO of ITE Education Services (ITEES), to discuss workforce development collaboration for the industrial sector. They focused on designing training programs aligned with modern manufacturing technologies.
