Aseer Governor Initiates Digital Saudi Day At King Khalid University To Propel Digital Transformation

King Khalid University (KKU) hosted the "Digital Saudi Day" yesterday, under the patronage of Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Aseer Region and Chairman of the Aseer Region Development Authority (ASDA). The event featured 20 public and private sector entities showcasing their digital achievements and innovative e-services.

The Governor of the Digital Government Authority, Eng. Ahmed Mohammed Alsuwaiyan, and KKU Acting President Dr. Saad bin Dajam were present at the event. Alsuwaiyan stressed the Saudi leadership's dedication to digital transformation across all sectors. He highlighted the importance of leveraging advanced technologies to deliver exceptional services and enhance government efficiency and competitiveness.

Three new digital transformation initiatives were introduced during the event. KKU unveiled an open-source software laboratory for data and artificial intelligence. Additionally, they launched the third version of their electronic portal. The University of Bisha also launched the second version of its business intelligence platform.

Alsuwaiyan described "Digital Saudi Day" as a crucial initiative to display the progress in digital transformation, share success stories, and strengthen public-private partnerships to achieve Saudi Vision 2030 goals. He noted that such events are essential for fostering collaboration between different sectors.

The event included five dialogue sessions, four presentations, and eight workshops focusing on significant topics like digital transformation and technology's impact on various sectors such as tourism, industry, and human resources. These sessions provided valuable insights into how technology is reshaping these fields.

An exhibition ran alongside the event, displaying the latest technologies used in both public and private sectors. This exhibition highlighted the government's digital journey, success stories, and a range of available e-services.
