Art Of The Kingdom Exhibition Showcases Saudi Contemporary Artists At SAMoCA@Jax Until April 2025
The Museums Commission has announced that "Art of the Kingdom: Poetic Illuminations," a travelling exhibition showcasing Saudi contemporary art, will be displayed at the Saudi Arabia Museum of Contemporary Art in Jax District (SAMoCA@Jax). This exhibition, featuring works from 17 notable Saudi artists, will run until 24 April 2025. It includes a variety of artistic expressions such as paintings, installations, and video works.
The exhibition aims to illuminate Saudi Arabia's rich history, shared memories, and cultural traditions. After its initial success in Rio de Janeiro at Paço Imperial in November 2024, where it drew 26,000 visitors, the exhibition is set to travel to China later this year. This visit will coincide with the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and China.

Among the featured artists are Muhannad Shono, Lina Gazzaz, Manal AlDowayan, Ayman Zedani, Moath Alofi, Ahmed Mater, Ahaad Alamoudi, Shadia Alem, Faisal Samra, Ayman Yossri Daydban, Daniah Al Saleh, Filwa Nazer, Sarah Brahim, Ahmad Angawi, Nasser Al Salem, Basmah Felemban, and Fatma Abdulhadi. These artists represent various generations and regions within Saudi Arabia.
The Riyadh edition promises newly commissioned site-specific artworks tailored for SAMoCA@Jax. The Museums Commission emphasised that these additions distinguish this edition from its Brazilian counterpart. The exhibition underscores the diversity and ambition of contemporary Saudi artists as they create new cultural dialogues on a global platform.
This event not only highlights individual artistic talents but also strengthens cultural ties internationally. By showcasing these works in different countries, it fosters a deeper understanding of Saudi culture and art worldwide. The exhibition serves as a testament to the evolving narrative of Saudi art on an international stage.
