ARAYA Cruise Ship Elevates Saudi Arabia’s Global Tourism With Unique Cultural Experiences
AROYA Cruises, the first Arab cruise line operated by Cruise Saudi, is enhancing Saudi Arabia's presence in marine tourism. This initiative aligns with the Kingdom's vision to boost its global standing. The ship embarked on its maiden voyage from Jeddah Islamic Port, offering a unique blend of luxury and cultural experiences that reflect Saudi identity.
The ship, a floating resort with 19 decks, accommodates 3,362 passengers and features 1,678 cabins and suites. AROYA expanded into the Mediterranean Sea this summer, launching its first journey from Galataport in Istanbul on June 28. The itinerary included stops in Athens, Mykonos, Souda Bay, and Bodrum.

AROYA showcases Saudi culture through its interior design and atmosphere. It offers 12 restaurants and 17 cafés serving dishes inspired by five continents while highlighting authentic Saudi flavours. The ship has partnered with the Culinary Arts Commission to introduce Irth, the first Saudi restaurant at sea.
In collaboration with Sawani, AROYA also provides camel milk products from "Noug." Guests can enjoy a wide range of entertainment options across 20 facilities. These include the largest kids’ area on a cruise ship at 1,800 square meters and the AROYA Theater with 1,018 seats.
The ship features a shopping district inspired by traditional souqs and a sports complex equipped with football and basketball courts. There is also a jogging track and a fully equipped wellness centre. At the heart of this experience is the "Khuzama" area with 145 suites and nine villas.
The villas span 395 square meters and offer exclusive services. AROYA includes prayer areas and allocates specific hours for women in its spas to reflect Saudi social values throughout the journey.
Strategic Expansion into Global Destinations
The expansion into the Mediterranean Sea occurred less than a year after debuting in the Red Sea. This growth strengthens Saudi Arabia’s position in leading global cruise destinations while supporting Vision 2030 goals for economic diversification and tourism development.
AROYA embodies Vision 2030 by diversifying the economy through strategic investments that enhance tourism infrastructure. This effort reinforces Saudi Arabia’s position on the global tourism map.
